Jennifer Martinez

Director
Jennifer Martinez, AA/Social Sciences, specialization in Education
About Me

My name is Jennifer Martinez, and I would like to introduce myself as your Director.   I hold an associate's degree in Social Sciences with an Education Specialization. I am currently attending George Mason University, pursuing a degree in Integrative Studies with a focus on Education. I have served 12 years for LLE Education as a preschool teacher, a junior kindergarten teacher, school-age supervisor, PM supervisor, and assistant director. I have primarily worked in the field of Early Childhood Education, but I have also done fieldwork and have also completed observations on the elementary level.

I was born and raised in America, my family is originally from El Salvador and Guatemala. I love to thrift shop, visit museums, try new restaurants, and spend time with the people I love. I also love to travel back to El Salvador and Guatemala to visit my family there. The limited time I spend with them is so precious to me.

From a very young age, I have always had the natural instinct to care for others, especially young children. When I began to work for The Merit School 12 years ago, I worked with a teacher that I can best describe as a "Mrs.Frizzle," watching the love and dedication she poured into her job while seeing that the children were so engaged and excited to learn each day, helped cement the idea that working with children was my calling. I then decided to make it a career by returning to school to study Education.

My favorite part of the day is checking into the classrooms to see what the children are learning for the day, such as observing group times, art projects, and fun educational-based games. I want to see that the quality programs that we provide to families are the foundational building blocks that will follow them for the rest of their lives. Ideally, my goal is to ensure that each child receives a quality education while ensuring that their parents entrust us as not only caregivers but a part of their family.

About Me

My name is Jessicah Nazarene and I would like to introduce myself as your Assistant Director.  I graduated from Manassas Park High School, in Manassas Park, VA.

During and after high school, I attended Northern Virginia Community College with my focus in Early Childhood Education.  I have worked for LLE Education Group for more than 14 years, holding many different positions and loving every one.  The best part of working in early childhood education is being a part of so many different children’s lives.

I attribute my love for working with children to their love of and eagerness to  learn.

My 5th grade son has attended Merit at Wellington since he was three months old. We love the caring and kind teaching staff that has taken the time to get to know my child and foster his love of learning. The team works to target the interests of the kids and bring those interests into fun crafts and activities. I feel at ease knowing that the staff wants the best for my child and every other child in their care! I highly recommend childcare at Merit at Wellington!

We love Merit! Teachers are actively engaged in children’s development and learning. They are professional and take interest in getting to know each child and parents alike. I know my children are safe, learning, and developing lasting relationships with other children each day. Kids don’t just sit and play, they are interacting and honing in on age appropriate tasks and skills, meeting milestones and getting ahead in home and school. Great job, Merit! Thank you Jen and Jess and all the staff for everything you do!

- Misty F., parent at Merit School of Wellington

My son has benefited from the small classroom sizes and very nurturing teachers. All the teachers we see will say hi to my son by name. It appears like a larger daycare, but you really feel that each teacher takes a special interest in your child. When you talk to the staff, you will realize that a lot of the teachers have been at the school for a long time, which speaks very highly for The Merit School. If you are looking for a daycare for your child, I highly recommend that you look at The Merit School of Wellington.
