The Merit School Learning Center at the Glen provides caring, quality daycare in Woodbridge VA.  We are located on the Prince William Parkway near Old Bridge Road. Convenient to the Lake Ridge and Occoquan areas of Woodbridge, this facility boasts a large outdoor playground and garden and an on-site swimming pool, protected by secure keypad entry system.

We are a Model School for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-age kids. Alli Schmidt is the Academic Enrichment Specialist at The Merit School Learning Center. Mrs. Schmidt has a wealth of knowledge and experience, having been an Educational Support Specialist and Director with LLE Education Group.

As the Academic Enrichment Specialist, Mrs. Schmidt will be responsible for supporting our teachers on a daily basis and ensuring that they have every resource necessary to help students thrive. Her educational focus will be to promote the development of language, literacy, cognition, social and emotional development, and physical well-being.

About Me

My name is Nancy Stewart, and I would like to introduce myself as your Director.  I am originally from St Mary’s County, Maryland. I enjoy sports, reading, and spending time with my three cats.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University, and I have more than 20 years of experience working with children.  I taught first and third grades in a special needs school in Baltimore County for three years, and I also taught Pre-Kindergarten for two years in Virginia.

Working with children has always been my passion. My favorite part of the day is when I can spend time in the classrooms.

I love to see happy families that all come together with a sense of community.  I am looking forward to forming bonds with all the families.

Our daughter is registered in the Junior Kindergarten program at The Merit School Learning Center. She is always excited to get to class and see what the day holds with her and her friends. Her teachers are wonderful and make her feel cherished as an individual as well as part of the class team. As a parent, we have been overjoyed with how much she has learned academically and socially in the short time we have been registered with the center. The entire staff is friendly and is always available with a welcoming smile to answer questions and offer suggestions that are best for our family.
