Summer Camp (and More!)

School’s out, but the learning and fun don’t have to stop! Summer Camp at The Merit School makes it easy for parents to keep their routines by providing an exciting, safe, activity-driven place for their kids when school isn’t happening. We also have a winter and spring camps for other long school holidays!

Our Summer Camp Program

Summer Camp - children having fun running in field next to playground

Put your child in our action-packed summer camp program for school age children, and get ready for a summer filled with exploration, discovery, and endless smiles. Our summer camp program begins at the conclusion of the school year and continues through June, July, and August.

Summer Camp at The Merit School - kids having fun in swimming pool

Outdoor activities are a mainstay of the program with weekly opportunities to swim for all ages.  Young children participate in outdoor water play several times each week.  Older children swim in our private pools. Children learn to swim naturally as teachers join children in the pool.  Swim tests ensure that children swim at a water depth appropriate to their ability.

Summer Camp gardening activity - three young girls picking squash from raised garden bed

Gardening is an important part of the summer program as well, with children learning to start and maintain plants or flowers in garden plots that are a part of the grounds of each location.  Each location has fully equipped, partially shaded playgrounds with opportunities to play ball, climb interesting structures, swing, slide, ride tricycles, or build sand castles.  School age children have access to sports courts or playing fields at local parks where they can play basketball, soccer, or kickball.

Childcare for Winter Break and Spring Break

During these holiday breaks, we have a variety of activities to engaged, active, and entertained. Winter break might include indoor projects like making paper snowflakes, ornaments, garlands, and holiday cards, or outdoor activities like playing in the snow. Spring break is a great time to learn about plants, nature, and the environment, to put on a short play, to make crafts, or to have fun themed days for which kids can be creative.
