About Me

Please allow me to introduce myself as your Director. My name is Beth Richardson, and I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and five years of experience in the field. I have served as a pre-Kindergarten teacher, Director of a Childcare Center, and Public School Teacher for first and second grades. I've also been a Computer Lab Instructor and nannied for a family for eight years. During my career, I've watched children in my home when my own children were young. I am from Plymouth, Massachusetts, and am a sci-fi nerd who enjoys fish keeping. I have two axolotls and love doing art projects with my daughter.   Additionally, my son, Matthew, is 21 years old and in his Senior Year at Ball State University in Indiana.  Our family enjoys going to Disney.  Our daughter Leah is 22. My mom was a kindergarten teacher, so I grew up with that example and have always enjoyed being with children. My favorite part of the day is walking around to see the educational activities the teachers are doing with their students. I chose Early Childhood Education as a career because I firmly believe that early learning is crucial to a person's lifelong ability to be a happy and productive member of society. I look forward to serving you and your family. Respectfully,     Beth Richardson, Director The Merit School at Southpoint
